In collaboration with Google, Mobilink presents Gmail SMS; a free web-to-SMS service which enables Gmail user to send SMS to any Mobilink subscriber via Gmail client. Mobilink subscriber can also reply back to that SMS which will appear on Gmail user’s Gmail interface.

It is noteworthy that in order to initiate chat; first (1st) message has to be sent by a Gmail user via Gmail client on www.gmail.com. This means that Mobilink subscriber cannot initiate chat himself with his Gmail contacts from mobile phone. Spam Protection Policy & Quota System (as defined by Google) will be applicable to curb abuse of Gmail SMS service.

Gmail User

• Log into Gmail account using web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome.
• In Chat and SMS text box, enter the number of Mobilink subscriber to send message and click on Send SMS.
• In the dialog box, enter the name of message recipient in Contact Name text box; check the country name and mobile number (MSISDN) of mobile recipient (Mobilink subscriber) are correct. Once done, click Save as it will help to build contact list.
• Type message in the chat window and hit Enter. Message will be sent to the mobile number entered.
• To send message to already saved contact, type his name or number in Chat and SMS text box. Desired contact will be displayed below. Select it from the list and send message.

Mobilink Subscriber

• To respond to the message received from Gmail user, simply reply from mobile. Reply will appear on Gmail interface of Gmail user.
• Mobilink subscriber can reply to the message received from Gmail user within 24 hours.

Commands for Mobilink Subscriber

• HELP: Command can be used to get list of useful commands.
• BLOCK: Command can be used to block messages from a specific Gmail user. This command should be sent in response to the SMS from that Gmail user whom you want to block.
• UNBLOCK: Command can be used to un-block Gmail user. After the execution of this command, mobile subscriber will be able to receive messages from the Gmail user he has previously blocked

• STOP: To block all messages from all Gmail users.
• START: To enables receiving SMS messages from Gmail if you're currently blocking these.

Service Charges:

SMS sent by Gmail users to Mobilink subscribers will be free of cost.
SMS sent by Mobilink subscribers to Gmail users will be charged @ Rs. 1+Tax/SMS.
No subscription is required to avail Gmail SMS service.

• This service is available for all Jazz, Jazba and Indigo users except those ported-in from other networks.
• Spam Protection Policy and Quota System, as defined by Google, are applicable. Both can be viewed at this link.
• Spam Protection Policy and Quota System will solely be on Google discretion and can be changed without prior notice. It is advisable to all users of this service, to review these policies frequently

After sending SMS through Gmail, I have received message that 'Something went wrong'. What does that mean?
It indicates that your message is taking a while, or that it might not go through at all. So, your best bet in this case is to try again.

How many messages I can send using the Gmail SMS service?
Number of messages sent by the Gmail user will be determined as per Spam Protection policy & Quota system. Both are defined by Google and can be viewed at this link.

Why am I unable to send message from Gmail?
Gmail user’s SMS quota is visible at bottom of chat window. Kindly check if it is not expired.

How can I increase my Gmail SMS quota?
Gmail user’s SMS quota will increase by five messages each time he receives single SMS from a Mobilink subscriber. If your Gmail SMS quota is finished or low, send message from Gmail to your Mobilink number and then reply back from latter. This will increase your Gmail SMS quota.

How many messages a Mobilink subscriber can send to the Gmail user?
A Mobilink subscriber can send as many messages to the Gmail user as he wants.

Why am I unable to reply to messages received from Gmail on my Mobilink number?
Please check your balance or SMS bundle quota.

Will Spam Protect policy & Quota system be applicable to the Mobilink subscriber?
No. These are applicable to the Gmail user only.

How can I allow specific Gmail user to send me SMS if I have blocked him earlier?
Please send UNBLOCK to SMS received from the Gmail user you intend to unblock. You will receive confirmation that the Gmail user can send you SMS now.

If I enable SMS from Gmail using START, will blocked Gmail users be able to send me SMS?
